The Accuracy Of Cultural Word Translation In The Bilingual Book Of Panduan Berziarah Ke Borobudur

This research focused on analyzing the accuracy of cultural wordtranslation in bilingual book Panduan Berziarah ke Borobudur. The method ofthis research is a qualitative method by using Newmark theory of the culturalword translation and Nababan theory of the translation accuracy. The culturalword will be grouped according to cultural category and analyzed the translationaccuracy based on how close the meaning or message can be transferred from thesource language into target language. The goal of this research is to know thecultural words translation of the translator use i.e. material culture, ecology, socialculture, gesture and habit, and did not find social culture category. The researchfound cultural category: tasbih, keris (pisau traditional jawa), tongkat pendek(camara), lesung, alu, cawat (kopina), simbal, bubur jali-jali, ronde madu, pohonsala, sungai gangga, brahmana, pathavi (pertiwi), brahma, bersila. The accuracyof cultural word translation are accurate: bersila, brahmana, pohon sala, lesung,simbal, bubur jali-jali, ronde madu, sungai gangga, cawat (kopina), less accurate:tasbih, keris (pisau tradisional jawa), alu, brahma and inaccurate: tongkat pendek(camara) and pathavi (pertiwi).x, 44 hlm
