Directive Illocutionary Act Of Quran English Translation In The Last Ten Surah Of Section 30 By Abdullah Yusuf Ali

This research aims to analyze the directive of illocutionary acts that contains in QuranEnglish Translation in the last ten surah of section 30 by Abdullah Yusuf Ali. Thisresearch uses the qualitative method, and the unit of analysis is the Quran Englishtranslation in the last ten surah of 30th section of the book The Meaning of The HolyQuran by Abdullah Yusuf Ali. In more specific terms, the study is aimed atanalyzing and identifying the directive and utterances direct or indirect in a text oftranslation Quran English translation. This research used the directive illocutionaryacts theory, which was proposed by John.R. Searle. As a result, this research showsthat there are 19 types of the directive, it consists of various kinds, they are twelvecommands, three ask, and four forbid (prohibiting). Then, there are utterancesconveyed, directly and indirectly, it consists of 11 utterances are conveyed directly,and eight utterances are conveyed indirectlyvii, 42 hlm.: ilus.; 25 c
