The effect of animation video on reading comprehension in english language learning

AbstractAnimation video belongs to audio-visual media in teaching learning. This research uses quasi-experimentsl reseach design that is intended to answer the question whether the students of 8th grade of SMP Negeri 1 Srono academic year 2016/2017 who learn the reading comprehension using media animation video have better achievement than those who learn using conventional learning. The research sample are 76 students that divided into control group and experimental group. Both groups were pre and post tested before and after the use of treatment of conventional way and animation videorespectifully. The first result of this research is that animation videosignificantly enhanced comprehension of a descriptive text in the learning process. The result of t-test is the increase of the score of students of experimental group from 61.7105 to 83.0263 after given treatment with animation video. The second conclusion is that the attitude of the students such as interest, enjoyment, memorization, the focus toward the instument influence the comprehension.Keywords : Animation Video, Learning Media, Reading Comprehensio
