AbstractThe students had to get the four basic skills of language. One of them was reading. To reach these objective so teacher should use STAD technique. This study was held to investigate whether (1) students who taught by using Student Teams Achievement Divisions technique had better achievement in reading comprehension than those conventional technique, (2) the students who have high motivation have better achievement than those low motivation. (3) there was interaction between the STAD technique and the learning motivation toward the achievement.
