Citrus maxima pectin has a function to serve as a superdisintegrant due to its hydrophilicity, its high methoxyl content, and its great affinity for water. It allows the acceleration of the disintegration time of the orodispersible film. This study aims to determine the superdisintegration effect of Citrus maxima pectin on orodispersible film characteristics. Initially, Citrus maxima pectins were extracted and evaluated for organoleptic properties, qualitative tests, loss on drying, ash content, equivalent weight, and methoxyl content. Orodispersible film of dextromethorphan hydrobromide was formulated in 5 formulas with varying concentrations of 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, and 10%.
