Children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have difficulty verbally communicating to others in their community. Due to high levels of engagement, music therapy has been proven to be a more effective method in enhancing verbal and non-verbal communication skills for children diagnosed with ASD. This literature review examines various research studies that seek to improve the social skills of children diagnosed with ASD through methods such as music therapy and speech pathology.
