Our project focuses on the United Nations’ second sustainability goal, zero hunger. Statistics reveal that 8.9% (690 million people) of the global population goes to bed hungry. Unfortunately, given the COVID-19 pandemic that has left thousands of families in desperate situations, this number continues to rise, with an additional 83 to 132 million people struggling to put food on the table. If this continues, by 2030, 840 million people will be undernourished. Our solutions fall into two major categories: how to help the people immediately, and how to plan for future scarcities and hunger crises.
