This publication offers a guide to the IPCC’s “Special Report on Climate Change and Land” prepared for decision makers in Latin America. Latin America-specific data, trends and analysis have been extracted directly from the Special Report for this guide. Supplementary material from recently published research is included to extend and explain points made in the IPCC’s Special Report. Community and policy responses can combat land degradation. Improved management of land, value chains and climate risks can deliver climate adaptation, mitigation and development. Insecure property rights and lack of access to credit and agricultural extension services hamper progress, especially of women.Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherland
