Engaging and learning for sustainable living

Learning about sustainability – the ability to maintain healthy environmental, social and economic systems in balance, indefinitely, on a global and local scale while working towards the UN’s SDGs – and taking action to make a difference in the way we live is becoming quite important due to population pressure, climate change and the way humans currently use our scarce natural resources. For this reason, engaging community through learning and implementing sustainable practices at the individual level are increasingly utilized to address issues of social and environmental concerns. Community education and engagement for sustainability reaches beyond simply producing a brochure to tell people what the problem is and how this can be resolved, or attending lectures or workshops to be updated and motivated.
