The debate about our recent History is gaining strength in Spanish society. Falaize (2010, p.189) refers to these issues by taking up the term “socially alive issue” (Legardez, 2006, p.22), a concept that the author defines as a “controversial school question, insofar is found that it is a debate that already exists in society” (Falaize, 2010, p.189). We try to define a possible way to address socially sensitive issues because they are normally politicized questions or because teachers usually stick to the curriculum and tend to focus more on historical knowledge as a knowledge oriented to the political processes and their protagonists.
