This report provides details of the proframme and results of the Intercomparison Exercise of In-Situ Measurements of Suspended Particle Size and Settling Velocity that took place in the Elbe Estuary in June 1993. HR Wallingford participated in this exercise using the video image analysis technique developed under a previous DoE funded research contract. The exercise provided a unique opportunity for researchers in this field to compare different techniques for measuring field settling velocities and particles size of flocculated material
