La conjunción de un período crítico en el desarrollo neurocognitivo, el aislamiento parental y un entorno hostil hacen de estos pacientes una población vulnerable a diferentes discapacidades de tipo cognitivo, motor, lingüístico, comportamental y socio-económico, que también afecta a su entorno.
