Psychosis, including schizophrenia, comprises a major group of psychiatric disorders characterised by hallucinations and/or delusions (psychotic symptoms) that alter perception, thoughts, affect, and behaviour, and which can considerably impair a child or young person’s development, relationships, and physical health.
