This presentation will discuss an innovative partnership between Macmillan Cancer Support, a nationally recognised charity that provides health and social care support to people affected by cancer and the University of Lincoln. The University and Macmillan formally agreed collaboration in November 2013. As a result, a training course on survivorship has been developed for health and social care professionals, opportunities for student volunteering have been created and Macmillan have funded a series of research studies exploring the social and supportive care needs of people with cancer and their carers. Most recently, Macmillan have funded a full time Macmillan Research Fellow post to work on research in the field of cancer survivorship. ...
