ObjectivesTo determine if three short daily sessions of physiotherapy for rehabilitation inpatients after hip fracture is more effective than providing one long daily session in improving mobility.DesignA single-blinded randomised controlled trial.SettingTwo inpatient rehabilitation wards at a hospital in X.ParticipantsSeventy-six rehabilitation inpatients after hip fracture. The key exclusion criterion was not being allowed to weight bear.InterventionsAll participants received multidisciplinary rehabilitation. Experimental participants received three 15-minute sessions of physiotherapy 5 days per week until discharge.
