SPORTS AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRONIC ENCEPHALOGY

Abstract CTE was a condition that used to manifest itself since the early ages in games such as boxing. The players displayed particular signs that are common even in today’s cases of CTE. In today’s instances, there are more advanced technologies that are used in monitoring the symptoms, which makes it better and less complex to study the illness. After many years of research and looking into both ancient and modern signs of developments of the patients, there has been a breakthrough for the condition in 2005. The illness is one of the most recently discovered ones with less than 20 years since it was found. The condition is known to affect people who are at the risk of continuous head injuries. The illnesses take some time to show in a patient. In most cases, they take 8 to 10 years before they are fully manifest. The span is counted from the time that the patient receives the mild hits that cause them trauma. The symptoms occur in stages. The first stage is characterized by Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. This is the state of inability to pay attention, lack of consequential thought (the patient does not consider the effects of their actions), and inability to control their emotions. Moreover, patients suffer from reduced intellectual capacity. They lack social skills and find it hard to create new relationships. They remain with the people that they love and whenever they are not around, the people may not concentrate on another task. This paper is an explanation of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, the discovery, signs, and treatment
