The Empty Gallery Interviews was a series of live conversations held with exhibitors ahead of their exhibitions, between 2009-2011. Set inside empty galleries across the UK, I staged informal interviews that made public the anticipatory dialogue that exists between the exhibitor and the exhibition space. Talking with each artist or curator about their upcoming show, the Interviews offered an insight into the methodology that informs the artist’s response to the gallery space; tracing their evolving relationship to the space in the lead up to installing the work.
