The present work deals with History Teaching from the perspective of gender relations. It has been prepared based on five workshops held in 2018 with students from the freshman year “E”, High School, from the Graça Aranha Teaching Center, a school located in Imperatriz - MA. Its main goal is to analyze how students perceive the power relations that were established in the history of Brazilian family, based on the gender of individuals and the multiple factors that contributed to the transformation of this social institution.
