Abstract

A new approach to the synthesis of luminescent soft media using a terbium β-diketonate complex and substituted p-tert-butylthiacalix[4]arene containing quaternary ammonium fragments with amino acid substituents in the lower rim was developed. The synthesized heteroligand complex was incorporated into the framework of the lyotropic mesophase P123-C2H6O2. The liquid crystal properties of the P123-C2H6O2 binary system were studied and the concentration limits of the complex incorporation into the lyomesophase were determined.
