© 2020 Author(s). For fiber reinforced composite made of carbon fiber tape with [±45°]2s lay-up sequence, cyclic loading tests were carried out. It has been established that the stress-strain diagrams of such a composite under tension and compression are significantly different, and under symmetrical loading over time, the average value of the maximum and minimum strains is negative and decreases monotonously. It has been found that it is not enough to use the linear hereditarily elastic model to describe the behavior of the material under consideration.
