Introduction: Unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) and total knee arthroplasty (TKA) are standard procedures for treating knee joint arthritis. Neither UKA nor TKA seems to be optimally suited for patients with bicompartmental osteoarthritis that affects only the medial and patellofemoral compartments.
