In order to guarantee protections of Title IX by the Education Amendment Act of 1972, it is recommended for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to support the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment. Title IX of the Education Amendments Act attempts to eliminate the gender discrimination apparent throughout society. The protections offered by Title IX are in jeopardy. Secretary of Education Betsey DeVos and the Trump administration have twice annulled protections offered by this act since the Trump administration has been in office.
