The world's computing infrastructure is increasingly differentiating into self-contained distributed systems with various purposes and capabilities (e.g. IoT installations, clouds, VANETs, WSNs, CDNs, ...). Furthermore, such systems are increasingly being composed to generate systems of systems that offer value-added functionality.
