Making the most of Moodle: Learning Hub help at Dundee College

Dundee College replaced the WebCT Blackboard virtual learning environment (VLE) with Moodle in May 2012. The college went through a significant shift in systems with a new student dashboard, ‘MyDC’, created in-house and a new VLE. In terms of learning and teaching materials, it presented the opportunity to start afresh and posit Moodle as the home of all learning and teaching resources within the college.\ud This prompted a shift away from promoting library and Learning Hub resources through the college website and onto Moodle. Moodle’s setup meant careful consideration was given on how the team would structure the material, using the ‘course’ feature of Moodle. The team focused on creating quality information in a more or less static Moodle course environment and making it accessible to all levels of learners of all abilities
