Letterpress printing

This interactive learning object introduces students to letterpress printing, the oldest form of printing and one of the prime printing techniques. It provides a brief history and description of how letterpress printing works. Students can then watch an animation which illustrates the letterpress printing process, and are invited to click on the names of various features of the process, such as the roller, ink or substrate, to find out more. An accompanying assessment item tests and consolidates what students have learned and a number of additional tools are provided to enhance students' experience of the resource.
