The non-farm economy in post-Soviet Georgia: A study of three rural communities

This report is based on qualitative fieldwork carried out between January 2001 and June 2002. The aim of the research has been to increase our understanding of the factors and dynamics of involvement in the non-farm sector in rural areas in Georgia since 1990, and to inform policymakers who aim to promote sustainable livelihood strategies in the rural non-farm economy (RNFE).
