Approximately 100 TnphoA mutants of Salmonella typhimurium (Strain TML a clinical gastroenteritic strain of human origin) were generated. These were screened in the test already described (Douce et al., 1991) for invasiveness. The latter was measured for each mutant as a percentage of that shown by their immediate parents on the same day
