Les problématiques et enjeux de la mise en tourisme du patrimoine culturel immatériel en Amazonie: L’exemple du peuple indigène Sápara d’Équateur

In the Amazon of Ecuador, the arrival of the petroleum industry helped to turn this space like an accessible space for the tourism development. This activity was organized around the discovery of the nature and, simultaneously, around the discovery of the indigenous peoples. However the tourism represents for them not only a new interesting economic activity but opposite to the advance of the petroleum industry towards their territories, it represents a strategy of preservation of the space and of their cultural immaterial heritage.To study this situation, we follow the case of the people Sápara of Ecuador, proclaimed by the UNESCO like a masterpiece of the oral and immaterial heritage of the humanity in 2001. The tourists' incursions in the territory Sápara began from the year 1990 and more from the year 2000. In 2010, we carry a poll in this place, based on participant observation and exchanges with various actors involved in the tourism development process followed by the Sápara people.Through the analysis of the information collected, we will refund, especially two logics: 1) The recreation of tradition or element of intangible cultural heritage of indigenous people respond to a set of rules intended to ensure, consciously or not, the physical and cultural survival of the individual or a group who recreates tradition. 2) The regulation of a tradition is not always compatible with tourism, which creates a problem when the tourism is weighted like a vector of safeguarding intangible cultural heritage. Thus, the Sápara territory is presented not like a tourist space but like a organized space to take advantage of the benefits offered to its local inhabitants when they desire to become a tourist destination.Key WordsIntangible CulturalEn Amazonie équatorienne, l’arrivée de l’industrie pétrolière a contribué à rendre cet espace accessible pour les besoins de l’exploitation. Dès lors, d’autres flux se sont développés, entre autres, le tourisme. Cette activité s’est organisée autour de la découverte de la nature et, simultanément, de la découverte des peuples indigènes. Cependant le tourisme représente pour eux non seulement une nouvelle activité économique intéressante sinon, face à l’avancement de l’industrie pétrolière vers leurs territoires, une stratégie de préservation de l’espace et de leur patrimoine culturel immatériel.Pour étudier cette situation, nous avons suivi le cas du peuple Sápara d’Équateur, proclamé par l’UNESCO comme Chef-d’oeuvre du patrimoine oral et immatériel de l’humanité en 2001. Les incursions de touristes dans le territoire Sápara ont commencé à partir des années 1990 et davantage à partir des années 2000. Nous avons mené une enquête sur le terrain en 2010, basée sur l’observation participante et les échanges avec des acteurs intervenant de manières diverses au processus du développement touristique suivi par les Sápara.À travers l’analyse des informations recueillies nous cimentons, spécialement, deux raisonnements : 1) la recréation de toute tradition ou élément du patrimoine culturel immatériel d’un peuple indigène répond à un système de règles qui vise à garantir, de manière consciente ou pas chez l’individu ou chez le groupe qui recrée la tradition, sa survie autant physique que culturelle 2) La règlementation d’une tradition n’est pas toujours compatible avec le tourisme ce qui pose un problème lorsqu’on pondère celui-ci comme un vecteur de sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel immatériel. Ainsi le territoire Sápara se présente non pas comme un espace touristique mais comme un espace qui s’organise pour profiter des bénéfices qui s’offrent à lui, dans sa volonté de devenir une destination touristique
