Aging is associated with morphological, functional and hemodynamic changes in the arterial system, most often aggravated by cardiovascular disease. Understanding these aggravating interactions is important to reduce patients risk. Medical imaging plays a major role in this context through modalities such as velocity encoding MRI combined with quantitative image processing and computational resolution of Navier-Stokes equations that govern blood flow hemodynamics.
