The Aggregate Extraction and the Geoarchaeological Heritage of the Ribble Valley project was carried out by the Department of Geography, University of Liverpool and Oxford Archaeology North under an Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund grant distributed by English Heritage. The project composed a programme of investigation into the potential impact of aggregate extraction on the archaeological resource of the Ribble Valley, Lancashire. The research formed a partnership project with English Heritage, the Environment Agency, Lancashire County Council, North Yorkshire County Council and the Aggregate Industry the key stakeholders
