The characterization and modeling of the quasistatic thermomechanical behaviour of a plastic-bonded explosive (PBX) called M2 is the focus of this study. First, a state of the art of the characterization of PBXs is compiled. The models developed for these materials are presented. Few data being available on M2, an experimental campaign is then performed in order to characterize the quasistatic behaviour of this aggregate composite material. Many different loadings are carried out at different strain rates, pressures and temperatures.
