International audienceBiomass composition on cellulose, hemicelluloses and lignin determinates its behavior in torrefaction (200–350 °C, default-oxygen atmosphere). Up to now, commercial microcrystalline cellulose was typically used to represent cellulose behavior in biomass torrefaction models based on macromolecular components.
