The Congressional approval of President Wilson's resolution to enter the United States into the Great War on April 6, 1917 ended a period of American isolationism and galvanized patriotic support for the United States which was manifested both at home and abroad. This war, although it was fought on a different continent, profoundly affected the lives of citizens in the small Midwestern town of Muncie, Indiana.
