Crystallization of molecules is a well-known phenomenon and it plays an important role in various industrial domains, including pharmaceutical, yet it remains poorly understood. A particular problem which remains to be solved is the control of polymorphism. We took the approach of surface templated crystallization in order to get an increased understanding of selective polymorph growth processes. Three main parameters were chosen for investigation: the type of interactions between molecules in solution and interfaces, SAM packing and the introduction of a step within the SAM.
