I present a distributed vision system for testing and development of computer vision algorithms. The system's form follows a new approach to the construction of vision systems. Utilizing streaming video interconnects and distributed computer resources, the system provides researchers with sufficient processing power to run complex algorithms under real-time constraints. The system runs algorithms in a pipelined mariner, with data passed between functional units using streaming video protocols. DirectShow forms the basis for the system's processing block objects.
