Video mosaics are useful for mapping, localization, and asthetics. This thesis demonstrates a fully automated method to take video sequences of a scene from multiple disparate reference points and mosaic them together. The dissertation begins with a new approach to mosiacing still images with dynamic objects. Extending to video, foreground segmentation is achieved using a multi-Gaussian mixture model. This is applied to creating a noise free background image. Backgrounds are then aligned spatially using image features.
