Network management is concerned with monitoring, controlling and coordinating network elements for reliable end-to-end customer services. This thesis presents an object-oriented approach to distributed network management of heterogeneous network elements across multiple telecommunication network service provider domains. Specifically, we present a prototype network management approach using distributed object database management systems as a repository and manager of a standard network information model, and we present the results of object interaction across distributed object-oriented databases.
