Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha (TNF-α) is a potent proinflammatory cytokine, and is implicated in various pathological conditions. However, TNF-α also regulates a number of fundamental processes related to cell survival and synaptic plasticity. This dual nature of TNF-α may influence the progression of various diseases. The present work aims to understand the role of TNF-α in two disease-relevant animal models- a model of antidepressants efficacy and a model of Huntington's disease (HD).
