The Whitemud type of sediment is common in that part of Southern Saskatchewan south of the main line of the Canadian Pacific Railway and west of Estevan. Occurrences are known in Western Alberta and Northeastern Montana, and many in Western North Dakota. This paper deals more particularly with the Whitemud as found in Saskatchewan. The geology of the area has been described by Dawson, McConnell and Rose. Davis was the first to make a detailed study of the Whitemud, however. Later, Dyer reported on the structure of the sediments in parts of the area and McLearn is now making a detailed geological survey. [...
