The measurement of particle size 1s important industrially. Among other applications may be mentioned its use in the grinding of ores and in the manufacture of Pulp and Paper. Investigations have been in progress for some time in the Physical Chemistry department of McG111 University, their object being the measurement of particle size by a light absorption method. Recently a new apparatus and technique were proposed: this investigation deals, in the first place, with an examina tion of the scope and sensitivity of this new apparatus and with the relation of its results to those of a previous apparatus.
