The preparation and properties of pure hydrogen peroxide solutions.

This thesis describes research work involving four distinct problem, namely: the purification and concentration of aqueous solutions of hydrogenperoxide, a determination of the freezing point and melting-point curves of the system: water-hydrogen peroxide, a systematic investigation of thevapor-pressures and boiling-points of binary solutions of hydrogen peroxide and water and a comparative study of the rates of decomposition of bothhydrogen and deuterium peroxide by homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts.This work is the continuation of a whole series of investigations carried out in this laboratory,on the properties of pure hydrogen peroxide (...).The method of preparation of the pure peroxide is still essentially the same as that devised by Maass and Hatcher (...). It includes three mainoperations: 1. Purification of the raw commercial product by straight distillation under reduced pressure; 2.
