BACKGROUND The World Health Organization recommends mass deworming in soil-transmitted helminth (STH)-endemic areas as of 12 months of age; however, evidence of benefits in children under two years of age is limited and coverage remains suboptimal. This age corresponds to a critical window to intervene and prevent poor health and malnutrition in the short- and long-term.
