Pathological anatomy of boron-deficient plants.

Boron is an element definitely known to be essential for the normal growth of higher plants but its true role in the physiology of the plant is still a matter for conjecture. Doubtless its metabolic functions will ultimately be revealed by physiological and biochemical studies but it was thought that a thorough investigation of the influence of boron on the anatomy of the plant would constitute a desirable ground work for such researches. An indication of the role played by boron in the life of the plant, might suggest other related studies likely to yield constructive results.
