[...] The experiments to be presented in this thesis have been undertaken with the object of further studying the role played by the adrenal cortex in the protein metabolic changes following stress, as well as other factors which may have an influence upon these changes. The author claims to a "contribution to knowledge" lie in the belief that (1) the data to be presented provide a new interpretation for the changes in urinary nitrogen observed in the rat following adrenalectomy.
