The Bourget map-area is bounded by latitudes 48030' N and 48°45' N and longitudes 71°15' W and 71°30' W, and includes Bourget Township, the larger part of Begin Township, as well as parts of the townships of Labrecque, Taché, Falardeau and Kenogami, all in Chicoutimi County, Quebec. Most parts of the area are readily accessible, being traversed by numerous gravelled roads connected with Chicoutimi, Jonquière, and St. Joseph d’Alma. These towns are connected by the Canadian National Railways with Quebec and Montreal. In addition, the Saguenay River is navigable up to Chicoutimi.
