This study deals with the perspective of Indonesian parents of children with disabilities concerning the inclusion of their children in mainstream schools. It explores the extent to which these parents believe in inclusion and what they identify as challenges and opportunities in the current inclusion of their children. Employing a case study approach, the main data for this qualitative study was collected through interview with seven parents of elementary school children with various disabilities in two cities in Indonesia, namely Jakarta and Yogyakarta.From their personal narratives, we learn that despite cultural differences, parents in Indonesia shared common opinions—with regard to various aspects of inclusion—with parents who lived...
