Neutral description of production resources’ capabilities, interfaces, and other characteristics is required for efficient design or reconfiguration of production systems. In our previous work, we have developed a Resource Description and Capability concepts. An integral part of the Resource Description is an Executable Capability concept, which describes resource’s control interface in a vendor neutral form. In this paper, we show the underlying data model of Executable Capabilities, and how these capabilities can be utilised in the task programming and execution of modular production systems.
