ObjectiveTo estimate the relative and absolute risk of severe hypoglycemia and mortality associated with glucose control, sulfonylureas, and insulin treatment in elderly people with type 2 diabetes.Research design and methodsWe identified elderly subjects (≥70 years old) with type 2 diabetes between 2000 and 2017 in the U.K. Clinical Practice Research Datalink primary care database with linkage to hospitalization and death data.
