In 1983 this Journal published a paper outlining a model of teacher development (Fielding, 1983). The model employed concepts drawn from personal Construct Psychology (Kelly, 1955). Kellyian concepts were chosen because it was thought they affirmed the model\u27s basic assumption that human experience may be and frequently is both non-deterministic in character and non-functionalist in its outcomes for individuals
