Images of Crime II : Representations of Crime and the Criminal in Politics, Society, the Media and the Arts

Two years ago, the editors of the first volume of Images of Crime described it as "a first attempt to bring together scholars from various European countries and representing a variety of disciplines, in order to examine and comment upon 'representations of crime and the criminal in science, the arts and the media'", and expressed the wish for "more intense co-operation ... among scholars from diverse fields, as well as from various countries". The appearance of this volume is a reaffirmation of this goal and an attempt to establish a series on 'Images of Crime', an international forum for the exchange of views and information on the representations of crime and the criminal in politics, society, the mass media, the arts, but also in science and the criminal justice system. Images of Crime has attracted the interest of the scientific community and has received favourable reviews, which is both encouraging and stimulating for its continuation
